9 Questions with Weatherford’s Ryker Smith – Football Spotlight – Presented by Momentum Homes Weatherford

VYPE: What grade are you in, and what sports do you play?

Ryker: I am a sophomore at Weatherford High School. I am on the cross country, football, wrestling, powerlifting, and track teams.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you?

Ryker: Isaiah Raji left the biggest impression on me because he works hard in the gym, he makes sure to hit every set, he goes 100% on every drill in practice, and he doesn’t let up, no matter the situation.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about representing your high school as an athlete?

Ryker: I have the opportunity to leave a good impression on the younger kids and plant a seed in them to grow Weatherford athletics

VYPE: What accomplishment or memory are you most proud of?

Ryker: Squatting 500 pounds as a freshman

Ryker: All of the coaches I’ve had through Weatherford Athletics for offering these opportunities to build my future in sports

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade?

Ryker: Mrs. Bailey Thomas, because she is a chill teacher and explains her assignments in great detail

VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?

Ryker: Focus on perfecting yourself before criticizing someone else

VYPE: Are you involved in any other activities?

Ryker: I’m involved in the National Honor Society and my church

VYPE: Which professional athlete do you look up to?

Ryker: I look up to Saquon Barkley because of his resilience and persistence, and reinventing himself as one of the most powerful running backs of this age
