Lindsay’s Addison Dodson – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Jerry Tucker Cementing

Addison Dodson has done a great job of making her mark as a standout multi-sport athlete at Lindsay High School, competing in softball, basketball, and cheer. Her versatility and commitment to excellence have made her an integral part of the Leopards’ athletic success.

On the softball field, Addison shines as a pitcher, where her determination and poise set the tone for her team. In basketball, she brings strength and presence in the paint as a post player. And in cheer, she takes on the crucial role of back spot and base, helping to ensure her team’s stunts are executed with precision and safety.

For Addison, a sophomore, the motivation to compete comes from the strong foundation of support around her. “My family supports me so much and pushes me to be better,” she said. She also finds inspiration in her role models, including Jocelyn Alo, whose accomplishments in softball push Addison to strive for greatness. Closer to home, her older sister has been a constant influence. “Her love for the game and the way she makes me better is so inspiring,” Addison shared.

Her favorite teacher, Mrs. Bray, has also been a guiding influence. “She is like a mom to me,” Addison said, noting that she can always rely on her for support, both on and off the court.

Success, Addison believes, comes from persistence and hard work. “It takes putting in work at all my sports and pushing myself to be better in different ways,” she explained. “Never giving up when things get tough.” That mindset has helped her achieve some of her most rewarding moments, including victories over Washington, a rival school that always brings out the best in her and her teammates.

Beyond school sports, Addison plays travel softball and is a member of the National Honor Society, balancing her busy schedule with focus and discipline. She enjoys following Hudson Westbrook on social media, admiring his music and positivity.

Representing Lindsay means everything to Addison. “It means showing how much I love the support,” she said. To younger athletes, she offers encouragement: “Just remember to keep going when things get tough, and everything will work out in the end.”
