Lindsay High School’s Brooklynn Bunch
By Ivy Knapp
For Brooklynn Bunch of Lindsay High School, agriculture has always been close to her heart. She joined FFA in the eighth grade after showing pigs, and it has become a huge part of her high school journey.
“My favorite part of FFA is the connections and lifelong friendships I’ve made,” she said. “It’s really helped me get out of my shell and meet new people.”
Through FFA, Brooklynn has competed in several events, but livestock judging is her favorite. She also enjoys being part of service projects, especially the Farmers Appreciation Breakfast. Her Papa has been her biggest influence, inspiring her to show animals and giving her the passion for agriculture.
“Our farmers do so much for the community, so I think it’s important to give back and show them how much they mean to us,” she shared.
Other than FFA, Brooklynn is just as busy with cheerleading. As a senior, she takes pride in bringing energy and leadership to her team.
“I really want to set a good example and be someone my teammates can count on,” she explained.
Preparing for the season takes commitment, with practices lasting about two hours several times a week even before the school year begins. When it comes to teammates, Brooklynn looks up to Breckynn the most.
“She’s always supportive and pushes you to be your best,” she said.
In the classroom, Brooklynn enjoys English the most, especially with her favorite teacher, Mrs. Wilson. Along with cheer and FFA, she’s involved in FCCLA, FCA, and student council, making her an all-around leader in her school community.
After graduation, Brooklynn plans to attend Oklahoma State University to pursue an animal science degree. Her goal is to eventually become an agricultural lawyer, combining her love of agriculture with her drive to help others.
