Anadarko’s Myles Jurado – Football Spotlight – Presented by Shelter Insurance – Samantha Wallis Agency

For Anadarko senior Myles Jurado, football isn’t just a sport, it’s a lifelong passion that began when he first strapped on a helmet at just three years old. Now a 12th grader, Jurado is the anchor of the Warrior defense as a middle linebacker, where his toughness, instincts, and relentless work ethic have made him a standout leader on the field.

Myles’ love for the game grows stronger every season. “Watching and playing football just motivates me,” he said. That motivation is fueled not only by his own determination, but also by the influence of key mentors. His health teacher, who also coaches wrestling, constantly pushes him to stay focused on his goals. Off the field, he looks up to former NFL great Luke Kuechly, admiring the linebacker’s intelligence and ability to read plays before the snap. “Luke was the smartest linebacker in the NFL,” Myles explained. “That’s how I want to be.”

The results of that dedication show up in big moments. One of his favorite memories came against a rival, when he snagged an interception and returned it 40 yards for a pick-six. Rivalries like the one with Chickasha only fuel his fire. “They love to talk smack and say they’re better, but we blow them out,” he said with a grin.

Myles also takes pride in the players around him, from battling his tough opponent Adrian, to appreciating teammates like Dylan Young and Wally, who capture the spirit of the team through their photos. He especially admires his cousin Jantzen, who selflessly plays multiple positions despite not always getting the recognition he deserves.

Representing Anadarko is something Myles doesn’t take lightly. He values the support of his community, who are always checking in and asking if he’s ready for his senior season. His answer is heartfelt: yes, but also bittersweet, knowing this final season marks the end of a journey that has defined his life.

Whether in football or powerlifting, Myles Jurado embodies consistency, toughness, and the love of competition. “I’ve lived for this game since birth,” he said. “I love to hit anything and everything, and I appreciate this opportunity to represent my school and my town.”
