Sulphur’s Jojo Gray – Football Spotlight – Presented by Sulphur Law PLLC

Sulphur junior Jojo Gray has become a key piece of the Bulldogs’ success on the football field, and his motivation is simple: doing whatever it takes for his team.

“Everything I do is to give my best for the team,” Gray said. “I want to help us win and make our community proud.”

His strong foundation is built on faith and family. Jojo credits Jesus, his mom, and his coaches as the biggest influences in his life, both on and off the field.

“They’ve all taught me how to become a better player and a better man,” he said. “That’s more important than anything.”

Jojo’s journey to success hasn’t come without hard work. From early practices to late nights studying film, he knows what it takes to compete at a high level.

“You have to work hard, practice hard, and give your best effort in everything you do,” he said.

One of his proudest moments so far was reaching the state championship, an experience he says was unforgettable. “Going to state was one of the greatest feelings a kid can have.”

As for rivalries, Gray especially enjoys it when Sulphur beats Davis. “Always good to beat a rival,” he said with a smile.

In practice, he loves competing against teammate Maddax Mobly, calling him “one of the hardest-working kids in the class of ’26.” He also gave a shoutout to Traber Sartors as the team’s most underrated player. “He’s smart and a hard worker,” Jojo said.

Balancing sports and school isn’t easy, but Jojo stays on track by sticking to a schedule. And when it comes to downtime, he enjoys watching funny and inspiring videos from Overtime on social media.

Representing Sulphur means everything to him. “Every game I play is for this town,” Jojo said. “I would love to win gold for this community.”
