OFFENSE

After a first-round playoff exit last season, the Elks are looking to build off of that and make a deeper run this season. Head coach Zac Maynard is in his fifth season leading the program and he has playmakers that his squad will lean on to be successful. Coming out of the backfield will be running back Tucker Garza (5-10, 200, Sr.), who is a solid runner and does a great job of getting those extra yards. “Tucker has been a starter since his freshman year,” said Maynard. “He has been a staple for our team for some time. He is a two-way starter, extremely talented, and carries a 4.0 GPA.” Helping him find the open running lanes will be Nate Miller (5-10, 240, Jr.) at fullback. On the outside, wide receiver Jeremiah Jackson (6-2, 180, Sr.). Miller brings athleticism and speed to the position and has the potential to be a key player this season. Anchoring the offensive line will be Aiden Muse (6-3, 260, Sr.) and Briggs Robertson (6-2, 260, Sr.). Tight end Kye Brott (6-2, 210, Sr.) will help on the offensive line but also can be called on to bring in some passes too. Overall, the Elks offense will look to find a way to get their athletes in space and get the ball to them. They plan to try to evenly attack the defense on the ground and in the air.
