OFFENSE
The defending 2A state champion Washington Warriors enter the 2024 season with a championship pedigree and high expectations. The offense will feature a dynamic mix of returning talent and rising stars ready to step into larger roles. At quarterback, sophomore Creed Barrett is coming off a strong freshman campaign. With a full offseason of development, Barrett has become more accurate and decisive in the passing game, while also adding a dangerous dimension with his legs. His growth will be a key component of Washington’s offensive success. One of his top targets will be junior Kade Babcock, a versatile and explosive wide receiver who’s already made a name for himself on both sides of the ball. Babcock’s speed and route-running make him a matchup nightmare, and he’s poised for a breakout year.
Another player to watch is Josiah Dickerson, who gained valuable experience late last season and throughout the playoffs. With a bigger role in 2025, Dickerson is expected to be a steady contributor and provide balance to the passing attack. With talent, depth, and a championship culture in place, the Warriors’ offense should be tough to slow down.
DEFENSE
Washington’s defense was the backbone of last season’s title run, culminating in a gritty 7-6 win over Millwood in the state championship. That same toughness and discipline will carry over into 2025. Junior standout Case Alexander returns as one of the most dominant two-way players in Oklahoma. His football IQ, physicality, and playmaking ability give the Warriors a reliable leader in the heart of their defense. Alongside him is Kade Babcock, who will once again anchor the secondary. His ability to read offenses and create turnovers makes him one of the most feared defensive backs in the class. Coach Brad Beeler, entering his 15th season, has built a system based on accountability, hard work, and fundamentals. With stars like Alexander and Babcock leading the way, the Warriors are primed to defend their crown with the same relentless defense that carried them to glory in 2024.
