CYRIL PIRATES

Coach: BRUCE HARRELL

5-5

OFFENSE

The Cyril Pirates are set to open the season with an explosive offense anchored by a dynamic group of skill players. Head coach Bruce Harrell plans to spread things out and let his athletes create big plays in space. Senior quarterback Nash Harman (6-1, 192) will be the centerpiece of the attack. A phenomenal all-around athlete, Harman brings elite speed and a strong arm to the position. He has surpassed 2,000 career points on the hardwood for a State Tournament basketball team and placed among the state’s fastest sprinters in both the 100 meters (10.82) and 200 meters (22.24). His dual-threat ability makes him a nightmare for opposing defenses.

Helping Harman stretch the field is senior receiver Ryan Long (6-1, 184) and sophomore standout Bravyn Thompson (6-0, 171). Thompson turned heads as a freshman with his ability to both outrun defenders and high-point the football. At tight end, Braxon Hughes (6’0, 174) adds a reliable target and extra blocking punch. The offensive line will be anchored by senior center Robert Hannah (510, 245), whose physical presence will be critical in pass protection and opening running lanes. Watch for freshman River Thompson, an 11.40 100-meter sprinter, to contribute all over the field. River can line up at running back, quarterback, or wide receiver, bringing versatility and toughness to the Pirates’ scheme.

DEFENSE

Defensively, Cyril will emphasize gap control and disciplined pursuit. The Pirates have experience and athleticism at every level. Harman will patrol the back end at free safety, where his speed and instincts make him a ball hawk in the secondary. The linebacker corps is led by Malachi Dahmer (5-11, 195) and Brayden Hajj (5-7, 176), both relentless tacklers who play with great effort. Up front, defensive end Daylon Adamson (6-3, 185) provides length and quickness, while nose guard Robert Hannah will clog the interior gaps. On the perimeter, Thompson and Harman form an athletic and physical combination in coverage. With so many versatile athletes, the Pirates expect to be aggressive and opportunistic on defense, ready to create turnovers and set up the offense with favorable field position.
