Altus Mom: Jacalyn Bull – Presented by JCMH Obstetrics & Gynecology

Parents play an important role in the lives of their children. Not just in raising them and helping them grow but also with their support in whatever activities or sports their children are involved in. Jacalyn Bull is the mother of two, and she says that while it may be tough at times, she tries her best to be there for her kids as much as she can.
“I stay involved in my children’s athletic careers by attending as many events as possible,” she said. “I always try to be there to cheer them on from the sidelines.  With tennis it sometimes gets difficult because so many tournaments are during the school day in the middle of the week when I am at work, but I always am there in person if at all possible.  I think it’s important for kids to know they have parents who support them and are cheering them on no matter what the outcome of the event might be.”

Jacalyn and her husband Kerry have two children. Easton graduated from Altus in 2022 and is currently in pharmacy school at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He was an All-State golfer in his senior year at Altus. Evyn is a sophomore at Altus. She plays on the varsity tennis and volleyball teams.

Jacalyn is the sixth-grade counselor at Altus Intermediate School and is in her 23rd year working for the school district. In her free time, she enjoys reading, listening to audio books, and walking and hiking with her two golden retrievers.

As the parent of an athlete, Jacalyn is involved with the booster clubs of the sports that her daughter plays.

“I am a member of the tennis and volleyball booster clubs,” she said. “That involves selling t-shirts, fruit sales, or any other manner of fundraiser for the teams.  We have great booster clubs at Altus that support athletes and coaches and try to meet the needs of each team.”
