Role models can play a big impact in the lives of high school students. Whether it is someone that is part of their everyday life or someone that they watch from a distance, the influence they can have can be big. Noah Alviso is a multi-sport athlete at Maysville High School and he says there is a professional athlete that he looks up to the most.
“My biggest role model is Luke Kuechly,” Noah said. “He was the best linebacker in the NFL because he could see the game in a different way and know where the ball was going seventy percent of the time.”
Noah, a junior, competes in football, baseball, and track. He is also a member of the National Honor Society.
There have been people in Alviso’s life that have influenced him and helped him become who he is today.
“My dad is my biggest role model,” he said. “He pushes me to do everything harder and faster. Also, my football coaches because they taught me everything that I know about using technique and how it really helps. Our head football coach Dace Lemieux pushes me to my max whenever I try to stop and rest or I said that I couldn’t do it, he told me to keep going and just try.”
When game day comes around, Noah and his teammates are always ready to compete against whoever is on the schedule. But out of all the opponents, Alviso has one that he enjoys beating the most.
“Paoli is the team I like to get the win against the most because they have always been our rival team,” he said. “We usually beat them, but last year they beat us and took our spot in the playoffs. We took that to heart and this year we made them remember who we were and it was a tough game but we beat them 12-6 in the fourth quarter.”
