Thanks to the encouragement of a family member, when Burns Flat-Dill City High School’s Bailey Beggs entered the eighth grade, she made the decision many of her peers were making at that time; should I join FFA? For Beggs, the answer was fairly simple.
“I joined FFA my 8th grade year and I have been the FFA chapter vice president and I am now chapter president,” Beggs said. “My grandpa encouraged me to join FFA and start showing however in the last year Jordan Cook had encouraged me to be more involved and participate in more leadership activities.”
Attending contests and shows where she has the opportunity to meet new people is what Beggs said she enjoys the most.
“I enjoy building those lifelong friendships,” said Beggs. “I do speech contests leadership camps and any other activity that I can I love being involved in my chapter and doing as many activities that I can. I showed pig my 8th grade year to my junior year, and I now show cattle. I am our class vice president I am also an officer of our student council I am the reporter for our 4-H club.”
Beggs said anyone interested in FFA should jump in and try something new.
“I would strongly encourage everyone to join FFA it opens so many opportunities and there is something for everyone it not only teaches you valuable life lessons but allows you to build lifelong relationships
