Wetumka’s Emily Anderson – FFA Spotlight – Presented by Oklahoma AgCredit

Wetumka High School junior Emily Anderson is a member of the varsity cheer squad and the FFA chapter. Emily first got involved in FFA in the eighth grade thanks to the encouragement of a friend.

“My best friend Kinlee got me involved in FFA,” Emily said. “I enjoy making new friendships and getting closer with my FFA team and I love to show, it’s my favorite thing to do.”

Emily shows pigs and is now showing a cross and a spot. Showing is not her only activity. Emily serves on the officer’s team and is in land judging. Emily said anyone interested in FFA should give it a try.

“The advice I’d give is to do it. It’s one of the best exercises. I am so glad I did it and I don’t regret it at all. I made so many new friendships,” said Emily.

A two-sport athlete, Emily is involved in cheer and softball.
“My job on my cheer team is to help when both captains are gone and next year I’m trying out for captain. I also play softball. I’m a starter and I play center field of left field,” said Emily.

Her plans after high school include college and working in the medical field.
“My plans after high school is to go to OSU. I am getting my CNA right know and with that I am going to work at a hospital and progress from there,” said Emily.
