The Longhorns were hit hard by graduation last season, but head coach Jesse Buck says that the team will look to guys to step up and fill those spots. “We lost eight seniors last season,” Buck said. “We return one starter. The team is working hard and I am excited for the upcoming season.” Zander Madole (6-0, Sr.) is a very hard worker. He is also a great teammate and has a positive attitude along with being a skilled shooter. Another player that looks to have a big season is Cooper Baxter (6-2, Jr.). He has a great motor and brings physicality to the team. He is a tough defender and an excellent rebounder. He also has a good outside shot.
“ ”A new face on the team this season is freshman Drake Madole (6-1, Fr.). Drake has a lot of potential. He is a gifted driver and his outside shot has really improved over the summer. He has really grown as an on ball defender. Gage Armstrong (6-2, Sr.) is the glue of the team. He is a hard worker and a great teammate. He is a very good defender and rebounder and is always thinking about what he can do to help the team win. Ryder Cameron (6-3, Sr.) has not played basketball in a few years. He is an exceptional athlete with good size. He will be a key part of the team’s success this season. A great kid, Dayn May (6-0, Sr.) excels both on and off the court. He is a talented basketball player and an even more talented person. Other Longhorns looking to make contributions this season are Colt Harris (6-2, Jr.), Keller Stanley (6-0, Jr.), Elijah Mims (6-1, Jr.), Payton Watterson (6-2, Jr.), Kinxston Lazano (6-4, Jr.), Cooper Johnson (5-10, So.), TJ Culberson (5-9, So.), and Nathan Smith (6-2, So.).
