Hobart High School

Hobart High School sophomore McKinleigh Farrington is a member of the varsity softball team, a cheerleader, a member of the FFA chapter, and is involved in AP club, FCA, and FTA. Somehow Farrington finds the time to serve as a chapter officer in the FFA program.

“I first got involved with Hobart FFA when I was a freshman at HHS. My dad and my friend Mati Squires encouraged me to join FFA,” said Farrington.

Despite not showing livestock, Farrington said she enjoys the community involvement the FFA chapter offers its members.

“I enjoy making an impact on and helping our community. I am a Chapter officer and go to many different competitions,” said Farrington. “Don’t think just because you’re not a farmer, you don’t show, or don’t work on a farm you can’t join FFA. The organization is so much more than that. FFA brings you so many friends and wonderful memories.”

Farrington started playing softball at a very young age.

“I played T-ball at a young age for my dad. I’ve pretty much been playing since I could play. As an athlete my dad really inspires me, he always makes sure I keep pushing and never give up. Away from school I would say Jayda Coleman. I love her energy and to watch her play,” said Farrington.

As a member of the varsity team, Farrington said she loves how hard the team works.

“What I love most about my teammates is that no matter how hard your day was they will never fail to make you smile, I believe I was blessed with the funniest team in Oklahoma,” said Farrington.

After high school Farrington plans to attend college for sonography and be an ultrasound technician as well as x-ray technician.
