Snyder’s Sydnee Collins – Cheer Spotlight – Presented by JCMH Orthopedic Clinic

Sydnee Collins has been coaching at Snyder High School for three years. Her favorite part of being a cheer coach is building an environment where the girls can grow as cheerleaders and young adults. “I also love the relationships that I’ve built with my girls. I don’t have kids of my own, so they’re like my kids; all 12 of them,” she says. They celebrate their victories with a lot of yelling, screaming, and dancing. “Every time that they land a stunt, it’s like an explosion of YES, GIRL!,” she tells us.

One of Snyder Cheers biggest strengths is their strong leadership qualities. “Being a small school, our girls are like celebrities to young girls. They work so well with their little Cyclones at camps, games, and in classrooms,” Sydnee says. Five of their cheerleaders were named UCA All-American Cheerleaders this summer at camp and will be performing at the 83rd Annual Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade in Honolulu, Hawaii in December. Those cheerleaders are Kira Hill, Kelly Knox, Kaitlynn Breeze, Joslyn Galvan, and Jadyn Kenyon.

One of the things that the team looks forward to every year is their annual Christmas party. This will be the teams third year competing in Game Day. They ate exited and ready to compete and see how much they’ve improved from the last two years. Sydnee says that she is so grateful to have the job that she does. She says “I have lived every moment with all of the girls that I have coached over the years. I hope to continue to build the Snyder Cheer program for many years to come.”

The girls really enjoy getting to cheer on their school teams during events and love the smiles that they bring to the teams and the crowds. One of the girls favorite parts of being on the cheer team is the memories that they have made with each other; having forged friendships that will last a lifetime.
