CLINTON LADY RED TORNADOES

OUTLOOK
The Clinton Lady Red Tornadoes are looking to turn the tide this season with a focus on development and teamwork. “Although we will be young, with the possibility of playing two to three freshmen and a sophomore, our returning senior Lillian Lime (5-9, Sr. G) has embraced the role of team captain and has been an additional coach during the offseason,” head coach Jefferson said. “We had a solid summer that has led to an exciting offseason. Our team is eager and hungry to get out and earn some respect.” The offense will center around Lime, a versatile 5’9″ combo guard who averaged 9.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.7 steals per game last season. “Lillian showed mental toughness and resilience in her junior year, and she has the potential to score at all three levels,” Jefferson added. Brooklyn Aston (5-8, Sr. G) will also be integral for the Lady Reds this season: “Brooklyn is a 5’8, physical and strong guard with the ability to play inside as well. She is a tremendous athlete and a bigger competitor. Brooklyn did not play her freshman year but will be an impact player for us this year.” Rhylee Rodebush (5-5, Fr. G) is a young player that will see the court the season, according to Jefferson: “Rhylee is an incoming freshman who is projected to start. She had a big eighth grade year,scoring as much as 31 points in a game.” Another freshman that caught his eye is Arlena Kirkendoll. “Arlena is an incoming freshman who stood out during summer team camp. She was one of the top scorers, rebounders, and shot blockers for the varsity team,” Jefferson shared. “Her high motor and dedication ensure she gives 110% every game.” The Lady Red Tornadoes will look to develop their younger players alongside their experienced core, aiming to build a more potent offense.
Defensively, the Lady Red Tornadoes will emphasize grit and determination, aiming to become a tougher opponent on the court. The defense will focus on being fundamentally sound while applying pressure to disrupt our opponents. The coaching staff believes that with continued development and a commitment to defense, the Lady Red Tornadoes can make significant strides this season.
