9 Q’s with Weatherford’s Kaitlyn Bryant — Presented by Pond Insurance Agency

VYPE: What grade are you in and what sports and organizations are you involved in?

Kaitlyn: I am a junior at Weatherford High School, where I play softball. Along with school softball, I also play on an Oklahoma Athletics National travel team.  That keeps me busy year round.  I am also a member of the Weatherford FFA Chapter and I show pigs.

VYPE: What accomplishment or memory are you most proud of?

Kaitlyn: Last season was a huge accomplishment for our team.  We set a goal to win 30 games, and we accomplished that goal.  We were undefeated in our district,  won regionals and then super regionals.  The state softball tournament was a great experience.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that makes you a better person?

Kaitlyn: Softball over the years has taught me a lot of lessons, each of them different as I have progressed and gotten older.  But, at this stage in my athletic career, I remind myself that softball is just a game, and that every day isn’t going to be perfect.  Some days are going to be better than others.  The bad days are going to happen on and off the field and how I choose to respond to them will shape my future path.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you?

Kaitlyn: Over the last several years, Weatherford has had high expectations to compete at the highest level.  It’s truly been an honor to be able to contribute to our success the last 3 years.  I have been fortunate to have played with some incredibly talented players.  Wearing the Lady Eagles uniform is a privilege, and I hope that my teammates and myself inspire and challenge the younger girls that hard work really does pay off.

VYPE: Who inspires you?

Kaitlyn: My parents inspire me to dig a little deeper every day.  My mom always tells me, “You can do hard things.”  I remind myself of that almost daily.  It reminds me to take a breath, regroup and take one step at a time.  My dad is one of the hardest workers I know.  He always gives 110% no matter how small or large his task is.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade?

Kaitlyn: My favorite teacher was my first grade teacher at Burcham Elementary School, Mrs. Judy Zehr.

VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?

Kaitlyn: “Pressure is a privilege”, is probably one of the best pieces of advice that I have heard.

VYPE: What is your all-time favorite meal?

Kaitlyn: Texas Roadhouse- I can eat my weight in steak and hot rolls

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?

Kaitlyn: I would love to take my family to the Bahamas.

VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.

Kaitlyn: I have a huge list of people to thank, my parents, my twin sister, Kamri, my grandparents as well as my high school coaches, Rick Morris and Darby Schamburg, and my Oklahoma Athletic coaches, Mickey Brown and Jason Barger.
