Chickasha’s Zoee Jones – Volleyball Spotlight – Presented by Vic’s Garage

The best piece of advice Zoee Jones has ever been given is that when a person has a passion for something they should never give up on it. Volleyball is Zoee’s passion. Beyond loving the game, it has taught her how to be tough both physically and mentally.

Now a junior at Chickasha High School, she started playing volleyball in the seventh grade. She realized the previous school year that basketball was not for her. With a desire to be involved in sports Zoee tried out for the volleyball team.

Zoee’s favorite part about being on her team is the trust built between teammates. Being on a team also lets her represent CHS. Acting as a role model for younger athletes is a role Zoee enjoys as a student athlete.

The skills she is learning on the court are useful off the court as well. “Volleyball has taught me time management by learning to balance sports, my job, and schoolwork,” she says.

Zoee has made many memories playing volleyball. The best times will always be the excitement of the crowd and her teammates after winning a game or tournament. The passion and positivity from teammates like KK Willard leave a big impression on Zoee.

Zoee’s favorite teacher is Mrs. Finck, her freshman English teacher. “She always checked in on me and made sure I knew how great I was when I was in a rough part of last school year,” she said.

The professional athlete she looks up to is Serena Williams. She admires Serena’s passion for tennis and her resilience to the obstacles she faced.

Zoee wants to thank her mom and dad for pushing her to be her best. The person inspiring Zoee the most is her sister, Braeli. “She is someone who I can tell anything to. She inspires me to be the best version of myself and to not be ashamed of who I am,” she said.

When asked where she would like to spend her summer vacation, Zoee said she wants to go to Bora Bora with her family and boyfriend.
