MARLOW OUTLAWS

Coach: MATT WEBER

9-4

OFFENSE

The Outlaws advanced to the Class 3A semifinals last season before being eliminated from the playoffs. This season, they have a good number of players back and are ready to make another run at the gold ball. Head coach Matt Weber is excited to get the season underway. “We return eight starters on defense and five on offense off of a Class 3A semifinalist team,” he said. “We are looking forward to the challenges that are ahead of us, and we are ready to compete.” Running back Jonathan Brite (6-1, 195, Sr.) and tailback Clint Landon (5-10, 181, So.) will both be charged with carrying the rock for the Outlaws. Both are outstanding athletes and will play a big role in the team’s success this season. Jacob Crowson (6-0, 183, Sr.) is back at wide receiver after being the team’s second leading receiver a year ago. Taking care of both blocking and catching the ball, Korbin Dittner (6-1, 198, Sr.) will be at tight end. Anchoring the offensive line will be tackle Brock Smith (6-1, 215, Sr.) and guard Gage Hixon (6-0, 225, Sr.).

DEFENSE

On the defensive side, Weber’s squad will work to get pressure on the offense and disrupt their plans. Leading the charge will be Brantz Bateman (5-10, 183, Sr.) at strong safety. He is a returning starter and a state champion wrestler that will be tough to go up against. Joining him in the secondary is free safety Blaud Harris (6-0, 178, Sr.), who had seven interceptions last season, and also cornerbacks Kaden Harris (5-11, 165, Sr.) and Keller Kizarr (5-10, 160, Sr.). These four players will work to keep their opponent’s big plays to a minimum while also trying to get the ball back to their offense. Hudson Morgan (6-2, 210, Jr.) has started at linebacker since his freshman season. He is a solid athlete that has already committed to Oklahoma State University for baseball but should get some looks for football as well. Also at linebacker will be Clayton Robinson (5-11, 218, Sr.), who will be a key part of the team’s pass rush.
